Our transparency promise

Last updated: 1 Nov 2026

Most news organisations ask you to trust them. We would rather show our work. These are the commitments every story on Bharatverseh must meet. If we break one, hold us to it.

1. Documents first

Every story links the primary records it relies on: court orders and hearing records, government notifications and press notes, parliamentary answers, audit reports, affidavits, RTI replies and official data. Where we rely on another publication's reporting, we name and link it. Where a document exists but we have not seen it, we say so.

2. We separate fact from claim

When a politician, official or party says something, we report it as their claim and check it against the record. We do not repeat allegations as fact. Explainers and news are labelled clearly, and opinion, if we ever publish it, will carry the writer's name and an "Opinion" label.

3. Questions still unanswered

Accountability means asking. When a public authority has not answered an important question, we list it at the end of the story. When an answer arrives, we update the story with the date.

4. No paid news, ever

No person, party, company or government body can pay us to publish, change, promote or remove a story. Advertising is served by third-party networks, labelled "Advertisement" and kept visibly apart from our journalism. Advertisers do not choose where their ads appear next to particular stories. If we ever publish sponsored material, it will be labelled "Sponsored" at the top.

5. Everyone gets a fair reply

Before publishing a serious allegation against a person or organisation, we seek their response and include it. We apply the same standard to the ruling party, the opposition, officials and private bodies.

6. Corrections in public

When we get something wrong, we fix it in the story, add a note saying what changed and when, and list it on our corrections log. We do not quietly delete stories.

7. We tell you who funds us

Our owner, publisher and sources of income are listed on our ownership and funding page. We do not accept money from political parties or government bodies for editorial coverage.

8. We protect sources

People who share documents with us in the public interest are protected. We verify every document before reporting on it, and we do not reveal a confidential source's identity.
